Design Maverick, Film Buff, Board Game Enthusiast.

Heya! I'm Kai, a seasoned designer with eight years of experience in crafting innovative experiences at the intersection of digital and physical design. My creative journey has taken me from corporate giants to the realm of academia. I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University, fueled by a passion for shaping the future of human-AI interaction.

Beyond the realm of design, I’m a certified board game nerd. I've been part of the lively board game community for over a decade in the Brooklyn scene, where I've cultivated lasting friendships through countless strategic battles and cooperative adventures. (In case you're wondering, my favorite board game is Power Grid.)

Sailes

As the sole in-house UX designer, I work on improving the user experience of Starboard, a centralized platform where sales teams can access insights and metrics of their Sailebot's performance, enabling them to train their unique AI to unlock sales potential.

2022 - 2023

Johnson & Johnson / Kenvue

Mouthwash products are synonymous with refreshment and cleanliness. It's the daily ritual of pouring, gargling, and the subsequent tingling sensation that keeps consumers returning for more. As a Senior Industrial Designer at Johnson & Johnson/Kenvue, I led the Listerine design and innovation initiatives to reimagine the mouthwashing experience for on-the-go occasions.

2018 - 2022

PepsiCo

Who could have imagined the complexity involved in designing an iconic beverage brand? While at the PepsiCo Design Center in New York City, I had the opportunity to redesign the 2-liter soft drink bottles, enhancing their ergonomics for a better consumer experience. I also contributed to the 3D design translation of Pepsi's refreshed brand identity.

Arc'teryx

Is it possible for humans to match the climbing prowess of mountain goats? What began as an intriguing inquiry in my undergraduate design course evolved into a 9-month collaboration with one of the premier outdoor sports brands. Together with amputee climber Craig DeMartino and Arc’teryx, I developed a specialized rock-climbing prosthesis. Our collaboration was documented in a film that chronicled the meticulous design and iteration process.
